Highland Threads is a collaborative project that has brought together 14 museums at a time of immense change and uncertainty for the heritage sector. Museums and Heritage Highland hosted a series of online heritage cafès to support museums at this difficult time and it was through discussions at one of these cafès that Highland Threads was born and developed.

A key aim of the project is to support museums while they are closed and while travel is restricted, impacting on how many visitors they can have. All our museums rely on visitors to help them pay the bills and to keep looking after their collections for generations to come.

If you have enjoyed this exhibition, please consider gifting your entrance fee to view an exhibition like this. You can support individual museums by visiting their specific object pages or you can donate here – all income received will directly support the museums involved to keep on caring for their collections and ensure they can keep on bringing heritage to life for their local, national and international audiences. Museums need you now, more than ever.
